Melisa Centofanti
Born in Windsor Ontario, Melisa Centofanti is the daughter of Italian economic immigrants. In 1998 she moved to Calgary, Alberta. Melisa is currently a community artist living and working with a deep passion for the city she has grown to love. Her work is constantly pushing the boundaries of fine art, beauty and traditional societal roles. Melisa holds a BFA from the University of Windsor. A full time artist, she uses her experience as a Montessori school assistant and as a certified wholistic nutritional consultant to complement her art practice. As a friendly, extroverted artist, Melisa thrives on collaborations with artist collectives, businesses, non-profit groups and community organizations. Melisa enjoys working with a variety of materials to visually express thoughts and ideas that are bigger then the
mediums themselves.
Melisa has experience with a number of methods for art production from mural painting and printmaking to artistic social practice. Melisa enjoys combining subjects like english and math in her visual projects with school communities. She has teaching experience in a variety of mediums for all ages from 2-92.
