Soft Revolution with Carrots is a 2Peaz Artist Collective installation (Melisa and Sharon Fortowsky) exhibited at the central Calgary Public Library in December 2025. The work uses the humble carrot — abundant, affordable, nourishing, and often overlooked — as both material and metaphor for quiet, persistent social change. The work proposes that revolution doesn't always look like upheaval; sometimes it looks like feeding your neighbours.

The piece sits at the intersection of Melisa's art practice and her food justice commitment, using food itself as an art material to collapse the distance between sustenance and statement. The carrot, like community art, is unglamorous but essential — doing its work underground, out of sight, creating the conditions for something larger to grow.
